/29th June 2013, By James Stalker/ Renewable energy developers face many challenges today. Three main challenges are: (1) no power grid in the vicinity, (2) no willing utility to buy that energy, (3) prohibitive stabilization costs of unstable renewable energy. The world's number of personal computers is expected to reach 2 billion by 2014 and 100's of millions of mobile computing devices are already in use, with the latter number expected to explode in the future.

Renewable energy developers face many challenges today. However, the energy requirement of these computers is largely unaddressed. Today, computer users just plug their computers into the wall sockets to charge their computers. An opportunity exists to find the nexus between the energy requirement for this growing number of computers and the challenges facing the renewable energy industry.

Dr. James Stalker developed a patent (pending), which will move these computers next to renewable energy facilities, thereby creating what are called smart energy load center (SELCs). All computer users will need are portable connection devices to connect to their own computers, where internet is available. These computers will consume clean/stable energy at the SELCs, 24/7. Computer consumers will not need separate desktop and laptop computers and many other mobile devices as the case today. All computer programs will be consolidated onto a single personal computer residing within a SELC. As a result of this innovation, computers (for both personal and business use) will never be the same again.

When new inventions are made, the cost of any newly designed products is usually very high. For the SELC innovation, the cost of the clean/stable energy (the product) is lower than conventional energy. This innovation will ensure lower/fixed cost of energy to consumers and higher profitability for project investors, by eliminating many costly redundancies in energy transportation, computer, and other peripheral systems. Read more ...
