  • Boost in New Solar PV Capacity Installations in Lithuania under Improved Net Metering Scheme

    /26th February 2018, RENEWABLE MARKET WATCHTM/ Lithuania’s new government supports renewable energy and intends approximately 200 MW of new residential and commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity under an improved net metering scheme to be installed in Lithuania over the next three years. In Lithuania, renewable electricity generation plants with the total installed capacity of up to and including 10 kW are promoted through a sliding feed-in premium, i.e. the difference between the guaranteed tariff and the sale price for electricity generated from RES. This price shall not be lower than the average market price of the previous month. It shall be calculated according to the procedure set by the NCC (Chapter III Art. 20 Par. 2 and 14 Law on Energy from Renewable Sources).

  • Lithuanian Floating Solar PV Power Plant in Kruonis PSHP Receives Funding

    /20th March 2019, RENEWABLE MARKET WATCHTM/ Experimental floating photovoltaic solar power plant project in Kruonis pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant (PSHP), developed by Lithuanian state-owned enterprise Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba has received funding from the Lithuanian Business Support Agency (LBSA). The total amount of 235,000 EUR has been granted. LBSA, together with the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation has decided to fund the project after considering 139 applications, 91 of which received grants. The floating solar power plant project has been rated among the best applications. Lietuvos energijos gamyba is developing the project together with the scientists from Kaunas University of Technology (KTU).

    /TALLINN, ESTONIA, November 1, 2024, 9:00 GMT, Sunly/ This autumn, the renewable energy company Sunly started work on three large solar park projects in Latvia, with a combined capacity reaching 225 MW. These projects will be capable of meeting the annual electricity consumption of over 118.000 households. The parks are planned to be developed in the Valmiera, Krāslava, and Madona regions. Work has already begun on the first project in Valmiera Municipality, where a 54 MW solar park will be developed near Matīši village. Simultaneously, work has commerced on a substation for a 90 MW solar park in Dagda Parish, Krāslava Municipality.
