/12th June 2015, RENEWABLE MARKET WATCHTM/  Investor's expectations for the positive development of Turkish solar energy market have sharply increased since 2013 due to the number of fundamental factors. 2015 seems to be an important year for the proper continuous development of the solar PV market in Turkey. Many investors have been waiting with interest since a few years establishment of Turkish Solar PV market. Some of these investors like CSUN, Belectric, Hanwha QCELLS and others already entered Turkish solar market, while other investors are waiting to see the more matured market structure for entrance. Turkey’s electricity transmission company (TEIAS) finished tender procedures and awarded 228 MW licensed solar projects in January 2015 another 302 MW at the end of April 2015. These tender procedures assure that soon we will see the first large scale photovoltaic power plants in Turkey. Can we expect a second-round Turkish licensing program for solar power at the end of 2016 after the great interest in the first round of 600 MW? How is developing unlicensed PV sector in the country? Answers to these questions, together with detailed market analysis could be found in our recently published report Turkey Photovoltaic Market: Outlook 2015 - 2025

First large scale photovoltaic (solar PV) power plants in Kazakhstan are under construction

Ohotnikovo1 small

/23rd May 2015, RENEWABLE MARKET WATCHTM/ Kazakhstan has wide potential for solar, wind, biomass, biogas and the hydropower project development. Kazakhstan's great RES potential exceeds 1 trillion kWh per year (about 10 times the energy consumption in the country). However, the RES' share in the energy mix is below 0.5% Wind, solar and biogas cover only 0.02– 0.03% of energy consumption in the country. Apart from partial use of hydropower, the potential for RES is not used sufficiently in Kazakhstan. However, the country's wind and solar power resources are stable and acceptable for the economic, viable generation of electricity. Kazakhstan has also approved on 12 June 2014 feed-in tariffs for renewable energy. The main goal of Kazakhstan is to increase the share of renewable energy sources in the energy mix of the country according to Kazakhstan Photovoltaic (Solar PV) Market Outlook 2015 - 2025

Photovoltaic (Solar PV) Energy Market in CIS Countries 2015 - 2020. Growth continued in 2014 in the shadow of political turmoil in Ukraine

Ohotnikovo1 small

/11th February 2015, RENEWABLE MARKET WATCHTM/ Solar PV market in CIS countries scored a remarkable 168 % CAGR growth of PV installations in 2013 compared to 2012. Significant progress achieved in photovoltaic sector development has made Ukraine an undoubted industry leader among the CIS countries by the end of February 2014. After that political turmoil in Ukraine changed the political and economic picture in the CIS region. Most of investors and developers preferred to put on hold or give up from their photovoltaic projects. Due to political turmoil in Ukraine and annexation of Crimea by Russia in February 2014, we have to point out that 2014 was vulnerable for the photovoltaic sector in CIS countries, which was mostly dependent on the solar power plant developments in Ukraine. The future of the solar PV sector in Ukraine remains unstable and cloudy, whilst Kazakhstan and Russia are expected to contribute to CIS countries solar PV sector growth in 2015.
