Enery Commissions the Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant Titu in Romania with 54 MW Rated Power

With the successful commissioning last week of Project Titu, a 54 MW solar photovoltaic park in Romania, Enery has reinforced its strategic presence in the country’s rapidly expanding renewable energy sector. This achievement marks Enery’s first end-to-end project delivery in Central and Eastern Europe, encompassing every stage from initial concept and permitting to construction, execution, and final grid connection. For Alberto Martinez, Head of EPC, the project carries a special significance. “Our first fully developed project in Romania, where we are completing the full cycle – development, construction and operation – reflects Enery’s DNA in delivering green electricity to the European grid,” he explains. This “full cycle” capability is what sets the company apart in a competitive market, ensuring that quality and sustainability are baked into every stage of a project’s lifecycle.

The implementation of Project Titu’s 54 MW solar park presented significant logistical and operational complexities typical of large-scale infrastructure projects. Construction commenced in February 2025, necessitating the seamless coordination of multiple subcontractors, suppliers, and technical teams to meet demanding deadlines. Construction Manager Asen Asenov emphasised the rigorous project management required: “Titu PV stands out as a technically challenging initiative, with the substation works and grid connection process demanding precise execution and robust oversight.” The project’s successful energisation in March 2026 serves as a testament to Enery’s expertise in managing complex grid integration and delivering high-performance renewable assets on schedule and to specification.

Designed for an expected annual output of 80 GWh, the facility leverages industry-leading solar modules, inverters, and tracking systems to optimise operational efficiency and maximise energy yield. This strategic deployment of cutting-edge technology underscores Enery’s commitment to delivering high-performance, bankable renewable assets that set new benchmarks for productivity and quality in the Central and Eastern European market.

This advanced tracking technology is integral to maximizing plant efficiency, improving return on investment, and maintaining Project Titu’s competitive advantage in utility-scale renewable generation.

Empowering the Local Community

Project Titu’s technical commissioning marks the beginning of a broader, forward-looking strategy for value creation and stakeholder engagement. The site has been master-planned for scalability, with a planned photovoltaic (PV) extension of approximately 10 MWp to further enhance long-term asset productivity and regional energy contribution. Enery’s commitment extends beyond energy generation—demonstrating a holistic approach that integrates economic, social, and environmental value.

In alignment with ESG best practices, Enery has delivered tangible benefits to the local community through targeted social infrastructure investments. Notably, a 10 kWp PV installation at the Potlogi kindergarten and an 8 kWp system at the Titu Community Centre lower operational costs, promote energy independence, and serve as renewable energy education platforms for youth engagement. Additionally, Enery’s social impact program provided essential winter clothing and accessories to 45 children in need, showcasing a direct investment in community well-being. From an environmental perspective, the project includes launching a biodiversity monitoring pilot in partnership with XNatura. Advanced acoustic IoT sensors will collect data on pollinators, flying insects, and bird populations, enabling real-time, data-driven insights into measurable biodiversity outcomes.

As corporate ESG commitments become central to business operations and stakeholder expectations, long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) are a critical lever for achieving sustainability and risk-mitigation goals. Project Titu exemplifies this trend by securing a multi-year renewable electricity offtake agreement with Nokian Tyres, a global leader in sustainable manufacturing.

Under this agreement, Project Titu will supply 61 GWh of clean electricity annually to a manufacturing facility—the world’s first tyre factory to achieve zero CO2 emissions. This achievement is made possible by fully eliminating fossil fuels from production processes and sourcing 100% renewable energy. The PPA not only protects the facility from energy market volatility but also enables it to demonstrate leadership in climate action and regulatory compliance. Through this partnership, Enery positions itself as a strategic facilitator, empowering industrial clients to advance toward net-zero greenhouse gas emissions targets by 2050, strengthen competitive advantage, and contribute meaningfully to Europe’s broader green transition.
