/ESSEN, GERMANY, June 10, 2025, 10:00 CET, RWE/ RWE announces the official inauguration of the Beg Ar C’Hra wind farm, located in the municipalities of Plounévez-Moëdec and Plounérin, in Brittany, France. The project was co-developed in partnership with the Lannion-Trégor semi-public company (SEM). This collaboration led to the granting of the environmental permit in 2022 without appeal. Construction of the wind farm began a year later, in the fall of 2023, with successful commissioning in November 2024.

/ESSEN, GERMANY, May 13, 2025, 10:00 CET, RWE/ RWE continues to keep up the pace with the expansion of its solar portfolio. The company is erecting several solar parks with a total capacity of 86.5 megawatts peak (74.6 MWac) along a motorway (A44n) in North Rhine-Westphalia. With about 141,000 solar modules, they will generate enough electricity to supply the equivalent of 27,700 German households with climate-friendly electricity.

/ESSEN, GERMANY, February 14, 2025, 10:00 CET, RWE/ RWE has commissioned one of the largest German battery storage systems at the Group’s Hamm and Neurath sites, with a total capacity of 220 megawatts (MW). It can reach its nominal capacity within seconds and provide power at that level for around one hour (235 megawatt hours, MWh). RWE is making the electricity from the battery storage systems available on various energy markets. The system contributes towards stabilising the electricity grid in particular through the balancing energy markets.

/ESSEN/ROME, February 13, 2025, 9:00 CET, RWE/ RWE has started the construction of its first commercial scale Agri-PV plants. The 9.8 megawatt (MWac) Morcone and 9.3 MWac Acquafredda advanced Agri-PV projects are located in the province of Benevento in the Campania region. More than 32,500 solar modules will be installed here in total. Together the two projects will be able to supply more than 13.000 Italian households with green electricity. /Essen/Rome, December 4, 2024, 9:00 GMT, RWE/ RWE was successful in the Italian Resilience and Recovery Plan auction, awarding contract for difference tariff and up to 40% return on investment for advanced Agri-PV. The 9.8 megawatt (MWac) Morcone and 9,3 MWac Acquafredda advanced Agri-PV plants, located in the province of Benevento in the Campania region, were awarded. Construction of the more than 32,500 solar modules is scheduled to begin in early 2025, with commissioning scheduled for the end of next year.

/Swindon/Essen, September 3, 2024, 9:30 BST, RWE/ RWE, the UK’s leading power producer, has been awarded Contracts for Difference (CfD) for five of its renewable energy projects in the latest Allocation Round 6 (AR6). The CfD awards have been made to RWE by the Low Carbon Contracts Company, on behalf of the UK Government, following successful bids for two onshore and three solar PV projects (see table below). The inflation-indexed strike price for RWE’s onshore projects was £50.9/MWh and for solar £50.07/MWh (based on 2012 prices).

/ROME, April 29, 2024, 9:30 BST, RWE/ RWE has started the construction of its first solar plant in Italy. Bosco, an 8.3 megawatt (MWac) ground-mounted solar plant, will be installed in Partinico Municipality near Palermo, Sicily. On a 16-hectare site, around 15,000 bifacial modules1 will have the capacity to generate enough green electricity to supply the equivalent of 7,000 Italian homes. Commissioning of this solar powerr plant is planned for the end of the year.
