Self-Production and Community Energy with Strong Growth in Greece with Forecast to Surpass 1 GW by the End of 2025

/LONDON, May 7, 2025, 9:10 GMT, RENEWABLE MARKET WATCH™/ In 2024, a total of 16,272 new projects with a combined capacity of 355.8 MW were connected, reflecting a significant increase from the 239.4 MW that were connected in 2023. However, the first quarter of 2025 indicated a slowdown, with only 1,712 new self-production projects electrified, contributing a capacity of 59.3 MW. The self-production capacity of 937.6 MW far exceeds the 546 MW of cancelled projects, according to the Green Tank Greece.

Lightsource bp and Portuguese Gas Utility Dourogas Formed a Green Hydrogen Joint Venture to Invest in Solar and Hydrogen Infrastructure in Portugal

/LISBON, December 20, 2021, Lightsource bp/ Global solar developer Lightsource bp and Portuguese gas utility Dourogás have agreed a unique green hydrogen joint venture to invest in solar and hydrogen infrastructure in Portugal. The partnership will explore the potential of eight green hydrogen sites. As much as 200MWp of solar projects developed by Lightsource bp will power 130MW electrolysers, developed by Dourogás, that will convert water to green hydrogen and oxygen.

/27th July 2021, RENEWABLE MARKET WATCHTM/ The well-established Polish solar project developer R.Power announced that it would receive a Syndicated Bank Loan of approximately EUR 53 Million to construct 91 MWp of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Projects in Poland. BNP Paribas Bank Polska and Santander Bank Polska signed the financing agreement with R.Power, and these two banks will split the loan amount equally.
