/SOFIA, BULGARIA, January 5, 2026, 9:15 CET, RENEWABLE MARKET WATCH™/ A comprehensive funding initiative has been successfully completed, supporting 31 projects for the construction and commissioning of electricity storage facilities. This initiative, part of the National Infrastructure for Storage of Electricity from Renewable Sources (RESTORE 2), has a budget of BGN 228.9 million.

/SOFIA, BULGARIA, November 14, 2025, 9:00 CEST, RENEWABLE MARKET WATCH™/ GEN-I has entered into an agreement to manage two significant storage facilities currently under construction by SUNOTEC in Bulgaria as part of its investment strategy. The first facility will have a capacity of 150 MW along with a storage capacity of 379 MWh, while the second will offer a capacity of 50 MW and a storage capacity of 126 MWh.

/SOFIA, BULGARIA, September 9, 2025, 9:15 CEST, RENEWABLE MARKET WATCH™/ Contracts have been signed for a total of 6,000 MWh of installed battery capacity as part of the initiative aimed at developing a comprehensive national infrastructure for storing energy derived from renewable sources, known as the RESTORE program. This initiative is financially supported through the Bulgarian Recovery and Resilience Plan.

/SOFIA, BULGARIA, September 2, 2025, 11:30 CEST, RENEWABLE MARKET WATCH™/ Thus, in addition to the batteries planned so far for nearly BGN 1.2 billion (EUR 0.61 billion), another 1,900 MWh of electricity storage systems will be added in the second part of the program in Bulgaria, and the total amount of grant funding they will receive is over BGN 230 million (EUR 117.6 million).
