/ANKARA, , December 8, 2025, 10:00 CET, RENEWABLE MARKET WATCH™/ Borusan EnBW Energy, a joint-venture between Borusan Group and Energie Baden-Württemberg AG (EnBW), has officially launched electricity production at its Pelit Wind Energy Plant (RES) in Sivas, which boasts an installed capacity of 80 megawatts.
This facility marks Borusan EnBW Energy’s inaugural project in the Central Anatolia Region and has been fully commissioned. With this addition, the Pelit Wind Power Plant becomes the fifth-largest in the company’s portfolio, which now includes 10 wind power plants, 212 turbines, and an overall installed capacity of 935 megawatts.
The Pelit RES is projected to prevent approximately 178,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, equating to the carbon sequestration capacity of about 4.6 million trees. Furthermore, the electricity generated by the plant is expected to fulfil the annual energy requirements of roughly 122,000 households.
Enis Amasyalı, General Manager of Borusan EnBW Energy, whose views were included in the statement, noted that the Pelit RES adds the Central Anatolia Region to the company’s production map, stating: “The region’s wind regime balances our performance throughout the year while providing us with significant flexibility in operational planning. With the commissioning of this 80-megawatt investment, which consists entirely of renewable energy facilities in our portfolio, we are increasing the share of domestic and renewable energy, contributing to our country’s energy independence, supply security and 2053 Net Zero targets. Pelit RES supports sustainable and reliable energy production as a strong example of this approach.”
