/BUCHAREST, July 15, 2025, 10:00 BST, RENEWABLE MARKET WATCH™/ The Lazuri Solar Park is located in Satu Mare County, Romania. This project marks a significant advancement in company’s commitment to expanding sustainable energy infrastructure in Central and Eastern Europe. Construction is scheduled to commence in Q3 2025, with commercial operation anticipated to follow in Q3 2026.
The solar power plant will connect to the national grid via a newly constructed 110 kV substation, implementing a loop-in/loop-out connection on the existing Vetiș–Abator 110 kV overhead line (OHL). This project aims to support Romania’s renewable energy targets and increase investment in the country, fueled by strong investor confidence and a growing national emphasis on renewable energy. The Lazuri Solar Park is expected to generate approximately 70 GWh of green electricity each year, which will be sufficient to meet the energy needs of over 48,000 households annually and help avoid nearly 17,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.

Lazuri is one of five solar power plants owned and operated by R.Power in Romania that has secured a 15-year power purchase agreement (CfD) through the national auction scheme. Overall, R.Power successfully obtained support for a total of 85 MWp of installed capacity, representing a significant milestone in its local development strategy.
